Brüninghoff GmbH, Heiden/Westphalia

Frank Steffens studied industrial engineering before working as a lecturer at Oldenburg University of Applied Sciences, with focus on the corporate processes and organisation of companies based on project business. He focused on corporate controlling in various branches; since 2008 he has also worked as a consultant for systemic organisation development.

In 2009 he joined the family company Brüninghoff, where in 2013 he became CEO for all operative companies of the resulting group. Working on the basis of industrial prefabrication with concrete, steel, timber and aluminium, Brüninghoff worked at four sites to develop concepts for hybrid structural systems and hybrid elements, including Germany′s first 8-storey timber hybrid building H7 at the port of Muenster.

Jan started his career at Aup a decade ago. Joining the Materials Consulting and Facade Engineering Teams in London. In 2008 he transferred to Berlin office where he successfully built a multi-disciplinary team of material experts for building design. Since 2011 he is responsible for the firm’s research portfolio in Europe Region and since 2012 member of the German leadership team directing the portfolio of “Quality & Excellence”. He is now leading the „Foresight, Research & Innovation“ business, working closely with Clients from the manufacturing and design industry.

Prof. Dipl.-Arch. Holger Kehne

Holger Kehne studied at Münster University of Applied Sciences and at the University of East London. After obtaining his degree in architecture, he played a major role in setting up the architecture firms Plasma Studio and GroundLab in London, where he is now director. He also teaches at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. He has won among others the Next Generation Architects Award, the Young Architect of the Year Award, the ContractWorld Award and the
HotDip Galvanising Award. His work is published and exhibited all over the world.

Univ. Prof. Brian Cody

Professor Brian Cody is university professor at Graz University of Technology and head of the Institute for Buildings and Energy. His focus in research, teaching and practice is on maximizing the energy performance of buildings and cities. Before his appointment at Graz University of Technology he was associate director of the international engineering
consultancy Arup. He is founder and CEO of the consulting firm Energy Design Cody, which is responsible for the development of innovative energy and climate control concepts on construction projects all over the world. Professor Cody serves as member on many advisory boards and juries and is Visiting Professor and Head of the Energy Design Unit at the University for Applied Arts in Vienna. He is author of the book "Form follows Energy".

After completing his architectural studies at the Universita’di Roma La Sapienza in Rome and RWTH Aachen University, Giulio Castegini began his professional career as an architect and thereafter as an Office Manager at Mario Bellini Architects in Milan. Since 2014 he is responsible as Global Head of Design Services at Drees & Sommer. With main focus on innovative solutions for interior design and workplace concepts he deals with repositioning of existing real estate and strategic new developments.

Miquel Lacasta

Miquel Lacasta is a co-founder of ARCHIKUBIK and also at @kubik – a multidisciplinary space. He earned his Ph.D. with honours (cum laude) at ESARQ Universitat Internacional de Catalunya UIC and he was also awarded with the Ph.D. special award (UIC 2012). Miquel is an Associate Professor at ESARQ since 1996. Previously, he was a faculty member at Elisava and Escola LAI, and also for post graduate programs at ETSAB and La Salle. He is interested in projects and research focused on the paradigm of complexity that architecture and urbanism are based on. 

Dr. Eng. Arch. Philipp Lionel Molter

Dr. Eng. Arch. Philipp Lionel Molter

University of Technology, Munich

Philipp Molter worked for several years as an architect at Renzo Piano Building Workshop on a major development in the center of London. After its completition, Philipp founded his own studio in 2010 and realized award winning projects. Since 2009 he is lecturer and researcher at the Associate Professorship of Architectural Design and Building Envelope of the Technical University Munich. His research and teaching focuses on adaptive building envelopes and their thermal and environmental performance. In 2016 he was awarded with the Dr. Marschall Prize for his outstanding dissertation. 

Uwe Wassermann

Uwe Wassermann has been working at Autodesk since 2007 in various strategic positions, currently Director AEC for Business Development worldwide. Integrating the BSM structure of Autodesk, Uwe Wassermann works with a group of highly experienced globally distributed professionals, who are responsible to accelerate and transform the AEC business worldwide. Prior to joining Autodesk, Uwe Wassermann worked at Nemetschek AG in various positions, including five years as COO, Chief Operating/Affiliates Officer and Member of the Board. Mr. Wassermann holds a diploma degree Structural/Civil Engineering from University for Applied Sciences in Munich. After starting his career in the area of structural engineering, he decided in 1988, to move into the software industry for AEC.

As Digital Building Solution & Transformation Manager, Andreas Radischewski has been responsible for the harmonization of existing planning processes and technologies of the Xella Group since August 2017. As an architect, Andreas Radischewski has many years of professional experience applying and introducing digital planning processes. He has introduced corporate BIM processes and led BIM-based construction projects on several occasions. Most recently, he was Head of department and BIM process manager at Chapman Taylor Architecture and Städtebau Planungsgesellschaft.

Due to his fundamental technical and business management know-how, Andreas Schlote is an expert in the fields of complex profitability calculations as well as for revitalisation of commercial properties.
In 2004 he founded the LuxembourgTeam S.A. as Managing Director and shareholder. In 2014 the company has been renamed as REC Partners GmbH. Since 2015 Andreas Schlote is the Managing Director and shareholder of REC Partners GmbH, as real estate specialist and project developer with branches in Frankfurt, Cologne and Bucharest.

Sebastian Brunner is the owner of Design Consultancy Strategy & Space and an expert for strategic spatial planning. Based on the psychological, social and cultural needs of people, he applies methods of user experience design for designing building architecture. He received his Master of Social Sciences from University of Mannheim and the University of Technology Sydney. He has experience as an entrepreneur at Triad Berlin, Grey Düsseldorf and Uniplan. Sebastian works in the fields of retail, workplace, urban planning, museum and destination development.

Henning Weiß

25hours must grow. Henning Weiß ensures that any new hotels, wherever they are in the world, still have the individuality and spirit that is expected from 25hours. To this end, he deals with both the technical challenges that building a hotel involves and develops pioneering products that give the brand a boost and secure its future viability. Since 2017 he is also responsible for the extra hour lab.

Weiß, who grew up in a small hotel by the North Sea, completed his professional training in the chic Hotel Louis C. Jacob on the Elbchaussee in Hamburg. He joined 25hours following trips to London and Berlin. In 2006, he became manager during the opening of the Frankfurt hotels and was responsible for the opening of the 25hours Hotel HafenCity in 2011.

After studying business administration in Vienna and the Master programme “International Management” at the Corvinus-University in Budapest, Benedikt Komarek enters early into the family business. Now he continues the family tradition of being a hotelier with a future-oriented Hotel called Hotel Schani Wien. A Hotel which has the so called Vienniese charm combined with innovations like: individual room selection, digital room key on the smartphone and online check-in.

Silvan Oesterle is an architect and researcher with special expertise in the field of computational design and digital fabrication. In 2010 he co-founded ROK, an architectural office in Zurich. ROK’s work focuses on the development of integrated architectural processes at the intersection of design, computation and digital fabrication. After graduating from ETH Zurich in 2007, he joined the faculty as a researcher with Professors Gramazio & Kohler. In 2013 he was a guest lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart. Since 2014 he is a lecturer at the Accademia di architettura di Mendrisio.

Katharina Axtmann

After studying in Stuttgart, Rouen and Tokyo, Katharina Axtmann worked at Robert Bosch GmbH in the development of new technologies like autonomous and connected driving. Since 2017, she is part of the management board at DIA-Dittel Architekten. DIA is passionately planning and realizing projects in the hospitality sector for more than 10 years. In its Digital business unit, the company pushes forward the conception and implementation of digital solutions for architecture and interior architecture. DIA focuses on the integration of space and technology to a holistic, functional and aesthetic ecosystem.

Robby Schwertner also known as CryptoRobby_ on Twitter is active in the blockchain domain: he serves the crypto community as an social media influencer and blogger focusing on cryptocurrencies and startups built on blockchain technology. His critical insights are published globally, including at www.wallstreet-online.de and he is a frequent speaker at international blockchain events.
Previously Robby managed R&D funds for Smart City and Urban Technology projects, including nano-technology and sustainable energy services, alternating frequently between Europe and China.

Filippo Lodi holds several master degrees in engineering, architecture, art and business, making him an all-around thinker. Filippo, as Head of Innovation and Knowledge Management at UNStudio works on the development of disruptive technologies for the built environment from a unique coating that cools down buildings, forest-based biocomposites for facades and interior partitions – as well as providing consulting services to companies on their workflow and rebranding strategies. Alongside UNStudio, Filippo is part of the arch tech startup UNSENSE, whereby as part of the management team he is responsible for research and technology.

3L Architects, Menden

The architectureworld  is going to be presented by Klaus Luig. After studying civil engineering and architecture at the University of Dortmund, he founded the studio 3L Architects together with Veronika and Theodor Lenze. He and his team are working on national and international architectural projects with demands on holistic design. He also developed projects in the health and social property up to 25 million € single investment.

Klaus Luig teaches at German universities, as well as in China, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, he has published seven books and several articles and initiated 30 national and international research and development projects.

Lydia Geldmacher

Ms Geldmacher studied interior design. As a sales manager, she were employed at "habitat" Möbel in Hamburg, founded by Sir Terence Conran. As a freelance interiordesigner, she worked on projects for BoConcept Munich and Düsseldorf.
Ms Geldmacher is a freelance interiordesigner and focuses on the implementation of projects in the office, hospitality and private living areas in Europe and India. She is focused to design living concepts, furniture, custom furniture and floor plans.
She works in a sales manager / interiordesigner at Kreon / Belux NRW, who is specialized in the creation of highly professional lighting concepts.
