The event organizers of “Bauen & Wohnen” are presenting a first-class, comprehensive congress program packed into five days: Trade visitors may be inspired and advance their know-how by keynote speakers on five main topics, best practice project realizations, inspiring explanations of models, innovative research and future-oriented impulse lectures. The architectureworld and Deutsche Hoteltag (German Hotel Day) will take place for the first time during ORGATEC in Cologne from 23rd to 27th October.
The trade fair is aimed at architects, engineers, construction firms, property developers, builders, planners of hotel chains and is recognized by the Architects and Engineers Chambers as an advanced training event. The last trade fair day is on Saturday, and this is important! The main, hot topics of the day are: Vision and practices of FutureHotel 2030, the potential of the hotel market and digitalization in hotel planning. The trade fair visitors will receive answers to the question: “Where is hotel design currently headed and what will FutureHotel 2030 look like?”
On Saturday, we will have Andreas Rohde, Head of Business Development at TOPHOTELPROJECTS GmbH. Before he joined this company, he had worked for a long time in the construction industry, therefore the difficulties and hurdles, yet also the possibilities in planning and implementation, particularly of hotel projects – are well-known to him through his own experience. At the Deutschen Hoteltag (German Hotel Day) Rohde will be speaking about the hotel boom in Germany and explain why Germany currently has one of the strongest hotel markets in the world. With more than 700 projects, Germany offers an enormous potential for all concerned – the audience can look forward to comparisons with other hotspots in the world.
Dipl.-Ing. Vanessa Borkmann is a researcher at Fraunhofer-IAO in Stuttgart. As initiator and project manager of the joint research project group FutureHotel with the showcase of the same name, she will be speaking about the hotel of the future! This lecture will present trends and developments from the FutureHotel research project. These include smart services by implementing technology for efficient processes for hotel operations, as well as novel use of space such as the living lobby and the smart hotel room.
Now you may think that the results will only be implemented in 2030. As a trade fair visitor, you can learn from Benedikt Komarek, Managing Director and owner of Hotel Schani in Vienna, what the digitalization processes in the hotel industry look like in practice and how they meet the needs of modern guests. To achieve this, we are developing, in conjunction with IAO, a SMART Hotel with innovative solutions for the booking process, check-in and check-out, the hotel room and the use of the lobby.
Many more keynote speakers are joining Henning Weiß, Chief Product Officer/ Member of the Strategic Board at the 25hours hotels; Michael Widmann is Chairman of PKF International Hospitality Consulting Committees in Vienna or Filippo Lodi of UN Studio.
